Rock Skills Intro

£80 per person
£20 Mountain Training registration fee if required (free for 12 - 17 year olds)

A Rock Skills Introduction course is ideal for beginner climbers; those who have never climbed on rock and those with limited experience of climbing indoors.

This course runs on a 1:6 ratio

During the 1 day course you will develop knowledge of this great and fun activity including:

Climbing movement

Footwear and equipment

Belaying

Abseiling

Ethics

Environmental knowledge

Hazards and emergency procedures

The course cost includes technical equipment although partcipants are welcome to bring their own should they wish to. Accommodation and travel not included although advice can be given to suitable services.

Rock Skills Intermediate

£130 per person
£20 Mountain Training registration fee if required (free for 12 - 17 year olds)

Rock Skills Intermediate courses are aimed at people with some experience of climbing who want to improve their movement skills, develop their ropework skills and learn about traditional protection.

During the 2 day course you will develop knowledge to include the principles of using equipment to set up ropes to climb on.

This course runs on a 1:4 ratio

Building anchors

Efficient ropework

Environmental knowledge

Hazards and emergency procedures

Rock Skills Learn to Lead Trad

£170 per person

£20 Mountain Training registration fee if required (free for 12 - 17 year olds)

A Learn to Lead Trad Climbs course is all about learning trad climbing skills including how to place protection, build belays and move in an assured manner on rock.

This course runs on a 1:2 ratio

During the 2 day course you will develop knowledge to include the principles of using equipment to climb whilst protecting the leader and second.

Climbing movement

Using natural rests

Lead racks and how to cary it

Placing runners

Protecting the leader and second

Building anchors

Attaching to multiple anchors

Efficient ropework

Single, double and twin ropes

Holding leader and second falls

Ethics
